After an absence of almost ten years, Royal Jordanian is resuming flights to India fromApril. The airline will operate from Amman, Jordan, to Mumbai from April 16 and Delhi from September 16. Two lines will offer four weekly flights with a total capacity of over 550 seats per week for each destination. The airline's return not only strengthens economic ties between India and Jordan, but also aims to promote Jordan as a tourist hub for Indian travelers.
The Indian sky will once again be decked out in royal colors, as Royal Jordanian announces the resumption of its flights to India after an absence of almost ten years. This reactivation of airport routes is scheduled for april 2025with new connections between Amman, the capital of Jordan, and Mumbai and Delhi in India.
Renewed air connections
Mumbai will be the first city to welcome aircraft from Royal Jordanian from April 16while Delhi will join the regular flight schedule on September 16. Each of these routes will offer four weekly rotations, enabling more than 550 passengers a week to travel between Jordan and India.
Strengthening trade and tourism links
In addition to the immediate benefits for passengers, this resumption of flights is intended to strengthen the economic ties between Jordan and India. Through these new routes, Royal Jordanian aims to position Jordan as a tourist hub for Indian travellers, while offering them connections with its entire air network.
A modernized fleet
Royal Jordanian currently operates a varied fleet that includes Airbus A320-200and A320neo and the Boeing 787-8 DreamlinerThe latter is deployed mainly on long-haul routes to North America. The modernization of its fleet has enabled the company to improve its operating efficiency, meeting the comfort requirements of modern passengers.
A look back at the reasons for this decade of absence
The cessation of flights between Jordan and India was first announced in 2014due to instability in the region and high fuel costs. Growing regional competition and high operating costs had also contributed to this decision. Today, however, the stakes are different, with a clear strategy of recovery and growth in the Indian market.
New American destination: Washington DC
In parallel with this expansion into their Asian market, Royal Jordanian is also opening up new opportunities across the Atlantic with a new route to Washington DCannounced for March 23. This twice-weekly route will complement the existing North American network, which already includes flights to Chicago, Detroit, Montreal, New York and Toronto.
