Taiwanese airline Starlux Airlines is continuing its ambitious expansion by announcing the opening of a new direct route between Taipei and the Californian city of Ontario. Starting in June 2025, this inaugural route will join the other American destinations already served by the operator, namely Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.
A North American expansion strategy
The new route between Taipei and Ontario marks Starlux's fourth destination in the United States, strengthening its presence in the North American market. This strategic choice is in line with Starlux's determination to position itself at the heart of the global airline industry, focusing on high-potential transpacific routes.
Comfort and innovation on board Airbus A350-900
Starlux offers a luxurious, modern flying experience, thanks to a fleet of Airbus A350-900s accommodating 300 passengers in four classes: First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy. Every flight promises the high level of comfort for which Starlux is renowned.
Flight times and frequencies between Taipei and Ontario
The first flight on this new route will leave Taipei on June 2, 2025 at 8:05pm, reaching Ontario the same day at 5:05pm local time. Flights will operate four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, offering 1,200 weekly seats to travelers.

An ambitious fleet plan
The Starlux fleet currently comprises 26 modern aircraft, with an average age of five years. This is set to be extended in the near future with the acquisition of new Airbus aircraft, including additional A330neo and A350-900s. At the same time, the company plans to integrate Airbus A350Fs to optimize its position in the airfreight market, thanks to exceptional load and range capacities.

Starlux continues to innovate and expand its destination network, strengthening its presence in North America while keeping a watchful eye on changing market needs. With a strategy focused on comfort and innovation, the company hopes to appeal to travellers looking for a unique flying experience, while effectively defending its position against major competitors such as China Airlines and EVA Air.
