Bhutan's national airline, Drukairhas a big announcement in store for Farnborough 2024 Inauguration of long-haul routes with the Airbus A321XLR. This new step marks a major turning point in the development of the company's fleet and international ambitions.
Fleet renewal: a bold strategy
Drukair has invested in three Airbus aircraft A320neo and two A321XLRs. These latest-generation aircraft will boast an exceptional range of 8,700 kilometers, opening the way to new far-flung destinations.
Gelephu Mindfulness City: the new airport hub
In addition to the existing Paro airport, Drukair plans to operate these new aircraft from the prolific Gelephua company in full expansion thanks to the support of the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. This site is part of a futuristic and ecologically exemplary city project.
A history of growth and innovation
Since its foundation in 1981, Drukair has gone from strength to strength. From its modest beginnings with Dornier 228s, the company now has a solid international network serving destinations in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Thailand and Singapore. With the arrival of the A321XLR, the network will extend to Europe and Australia.
