Etihad Cargothe cargo and logistics arm of Etihad Airways, has unveiled its expanded winter schedule, boosting hold cargo capacity in key global markets. From November 2024, the new schedule will include additional frequencies on existing routes and a new destination, Nairobi. Capacity will grow to over 900 flights a week by March 2025. Additional flights to Europe, South-East Asia, the USA, Africa and the Middle East will strengthen trade and improve rapid transit services. New routes to Central Europe will also be introduced in summer 2025.
Etihad CargoEtihad Airways' dedicated cargo and logistics division, recently unveiled its expanded winter program, boosting bunker cargo capacity across key global markets. From November 2024, the new program will introduce additional frequencies to existing routes as well as a new destination for passengers: Nairobi. By November 2024, Etihad Cargo will offer bunker capacity on 880 passenger flights per week, a figure that is set to exceed 900 weekly flights by March 2025.
Increased flight frequencies
As part of this expansion, Etihad Cargo will increase its operations with additional wide-body flights every week. In Europe, the company will add 36 weekly flights to double daily flights to destinations such as Frankfurt, Paris, Romeand Milan. Other flights will also reinforce our capacity to Zurich, Manchesterand Düsseldorf. In Southeast Asia, services to Thailand flights, bringing Bangkok to triple daily frequency and Phuket to triple daily frequency. 20 weekly flights. In the United States, flights to Boston from four a week to one a day.
Modernization and Regional Expansion
Etihad Cargo will also modernize its existing services to South Asia and the Indian Ocean. The route to Malécurrently 14 weekly flights, will be operated entirely by wide-body aircraft from December 15. In addition, wide-body frequencies for Bengaluru will be increased from two to three flights a week, and those for Hyderabad from new to 11 weekly flights.
Capacity will continue to increase with the introduction of new A320-operated flights, including a new route to Nairobi opening on December 15 with four flights a week. This will strengthen the carrier's presence in Middle East and in Africasupporting increased regional connectivity.
Promoting international trade
This enhanced winter program will stimulate trade between Abu Dhabi and major world markets, supporting industries requiring fast, reliable freight services. Etihad Cargo customers will also benefit from increased capacity in summer 2025, with 41 additional flights per week toEurope, l'Southeast Asia, l'Australiaand the Middle East. This includes twice-daily flights to Barcelona, Madrid, Manchester, Parisand Zurich. In June 2025, Etihad Cargo will also introduce two new destinations - Warsaw and Prague - with four weekly flights to each.
In partnership with network airlines, Etihad Cargo will integrate new capacity to serve additional regions. An ever-expanding network, in response to a growing significant growth demand for air freight, particularly in North America, where the company currently offers a capacity of 550 tonnes of wide-body aircraft.
These developments are facilitated by a constant expansion of the fleet, as illustrated by acquisition of new aircraft by other major airlines. This additional capacity will enable Etihad Cargo to adapt to growing demand and support global trade like never before.
